Mint souvenir plate from the 1900 Paris Universal Exposition, featuring a bicycle race, electricity (the electric tram), Sarah Bernhardt, the Dinner of the Mayors and more! Perfect condition, commemorating the kick-off of the Expo on April 14, 1900. A very rare survivor, heavy restaurant-style pottery or porcelain, no marks on back, presumably manufactured in France in early 1900 or in 1899. Blue and green print on a white ground. The last great Paris expo.... About ten and a half inches across.
