Celia Cole Spatterware "Poem" Collectition NC Art Pottery

Three Celia Cole pieces featuring amazing colors and range of decorative techniques, and her trademark potic verses or sayings inscribed on the base: "I was made for you"; "Love me forever"; and "Love one another" in these examples. the smaller mug (3.5 inches) looks like spongeware, the vase looks like spatterware, and the larger mug is exuberantly painted in a slapdash riot of colors. Date range is the 90s to 2003. A great representation of the continuing evolution of NC pottery glazes, following upon the early (likely Cole, could be Wilton etc.) paint rock glazed pieces also shown, dating from the first half of the 20th century.
