A very early and rare Hilton blue-edge ware in the form of a wide-shouldered spice jar, with a clear glass glazed, dating from the first iteration of Hilton Pottery, made in the 1920s. Converted to a lamp early in its life, with a hole drilled near the base; the lamp insert and cord came with it, and were nearly as old as the piece, but I removed it because it was unsafe. Probably kept the rim protected for a century. Six inches tall, six inches across the flared shoulder, 3 inches across the mouth. A great form and among the earliest blue-edge piecesfor which Hilton would become famous, and no chips or cracks.
