A rare half-gallon (give or take) alkaline glazed Catawba Valley stoneware cream riser, with a beautiful greenish glaze and a slightly wonky shape that gives it added charm. One and a half gallon or larger cream risers are easily found, but rarely will you find one this small. There are some significant chips to the underside of the widely flared lip, though they don't show as much from above. Late 19th to early 20th century, 6 inches tall, 7 3/4 inches across the narrow side of the mouth, 9 across the longer axis.
