A fine Richard C. Remmey salt-glazed 3-gallon crock, marked with the maker's stamp at the base; there's no capacity mark that I can find, but as you can see in the photos, it's nearly identical in size to a marked 3-gallon crock in my collection, so there's little doubt of the size. If you know Philly stoneware you know the Remmey family, as they're among the most prominent potters in the area in the late 19th century. 16 inches tall, about ten across the shoulder.
