A very large tintype of a New York couple, framed in the 1880s based upon the New York newspaper pieces behind the panel. Hand-tinted, lightly, and there's one tear in the matte that is barely noticeable. The old newspapers have been replaced with neutral paper, though the wooden panel is still in place. The tintype is 8 by 5 inches, the frame, which has some loss to the silvering and minor damage to the two-tiered back commensurate with age, is 23 by 17 inches.
