Original 1870s Saloon Beer Mug Templars Good Pony Large Central Glass Co. Inverted Thumbprint

An incredibly scarce 19th century saloon or tavern beer mug, c. 1870 to 1880, with a mocking anti-temperance "Good Templars Pony" embossed base. These were used in saloons and taverns in the late 19th century. 7.25 inches tall, 4 across the lip, 7 across the handle. There was a temperance group named after the Templars, founded in the 1850s; this was s bit of sarcasm, since a "pony" was a small drink, and this mug is huge. Made by Central Glass Company, in their "reverse thumbprint " pattern, introduced in the late 1860s and lasting until c. 1882, so it's pretty easily dated. Several unobtrusive chips to the inside base that don't extend to the outer border, expected age-related wear, glass "wiping" during production at one spot on the rim (a manufacturing feature), some air inclusions in the separately applied handle, overall A+ shape.
