North Carolina Molasses Comb early 20th Century Appalachian Hand Carved Folk Relic

A very nice molasses comb, used in the "olden days" to check the viscosity of sorghum molasses as it cooked, and invariably wielded by a matriarch in her 90s (in a rocking chair, sometimes with a pipe; old lady expert not included). Sounds like a caricature from Li'l Abner I know, but I was at more than a few such events, and trust me, it's entirely accurate. Mid to early 20th century, NW NC or SW VA based upon where I found it. A rare relic of a dying art, unless you're making molasses, in which case it will prove handy! About ten inches by four inches by ... nothin' really, quarter inch thick tops....
