Rare and desirable Greensboro N. C. G.T. Glacock & Son cast iron spider style Dutch oven, late 19th century, marked 11 inches on the lid. One inside "pit" that's actually a manufacturing flaw; there's a raised spot on the base that exactly matches the indentation, so it came that way. (The rustic nature of 19th century cast iron, including the seams on the base and lid, are part of what makes it attractive and interesting.) It needs to be properly seasoned, but the inside is in good shape and retains some of the previous seasoning, with only light rust to the outside. (It's been rubbed down and cleaned with olive oil, and it's in very good condition for its age). The lid has a spot on the rim where it's apparently rusted through, outside of where it sits on the base, though I suspect it's another manufacturing flaw, and it's solid as a rock; 17 inches across to the end of the handle, 11 inches across the lid of the oven, approximately 8 inches tall to the top of the handle. A rare Piedmont North Carolina treasure!
