A collection of fine office desk accessories, ranging from a Victorian era silver-plated paperclip in the form of a lady's hand to a Remington Rand adding machine to a copper and iron note holder from the People's Bookstore of Dayton to a Burroughs bronze and steel letter opener to a cast-iron Marvel paper punch, which produces holes that align perfectly with the Everybody's Book Shop notepad. The Remington Rand adding machine is for display only; it was working, but I popped the spring playing with it, and didn't have the nerve to open it up and undo whatever I'd done (an easy fix for anyone who knows anything about them, I suspect). Another classic name in American business history is Burroughs, and the bronze and steel letter opener is a nice one. (Burroughs became a major player in computing, behind only IBM, and eventually morphed into Unisys.) Everybody's Book Shop wasan institution in Dayton, and the wall-mounted note holder is made of copper and steel, and happens to "fit" the holes punched by the cast-iron Marvel hole puncher. (I think the note holder was made as a "stabby" type, where you'd shove the paper in and the pointed arms would pierce it, but it's easier with the Marvel.) The Victorian-era gloved silver-plated paper clip, on an oak plinth and clearly a product of the Arts and Crafts movement, is the oldest piece, and a nice example, and is designed to be mounted to a wall if wanted. An instant collection of fine desk/office accessories, featuring some of the most iconic brands in American business history, and more!
