A fine Chinese porcelain statue of a laughing immortal, early Republic period (it pre-dates the required "made in China" found on later pieces). In the famile rose color scheme, with a lozenge on the base with a maker's mark. The fan hand is missing, and the other hand has been repaired, but otherwise mint. One of eight Taoist Immortals, and an early example. 8 inches tall, 4 wide.
