Antique 12 inch whiskey cask (or more likely a powder keg, converted). It's 12 inches tall and 8 across, and looks fantastic. One hoop at the base is a replacement (the one withredpaint), and there are a few random nails, but solid and sound and in lovely shape. A great antique barrel, perfect as a statement piece, small table base or what-have-you.... A longtime family piece, which is why I have the powder keg background info, btw. Pictured next to a 19th century wine bottle for scale.
