Absolutely majestic bent oak desk chair, circa 1900, with a heavy iron base rocker mechanism, on later wood casters. One foot had wood loss and has been repaired with wood filler, and an iron bar securing another leg has been replace (maybe just the bolt, actually). At some point, when the wicker seat began to break in a couple of spots, someone had the good sense to secure a board, padded with horsehair, underneath the seat, so it's still in good shape and perfectly sound. This will have to be disassembled for shipping but that involves a grand total of four screws, and the top just "screws" into the base. (It goes up and down by about six inches via the central screw; it also makes it a little tippy if it's too high, though there's a rocker adjustment device on the base to tighten it up.) SHIPPING IS AN ESTIMATE ONLY! Will ship via FedEx oversized (no PO boxes, physical address only); free local delivery, and I'll deliver personally for $100 within 100 miles of West Jefferson (Greensboro/Winston-Salem/Hickory/Southwest Virginia/Northeast Tennessee). A truly stunning desk chair, and I suspect (based on the stamping to the iron mechanism) that it actually dates to the late 1800s.... Please email me with a zip code for a shipping quote.
