North Carolina stoneware crocks, one alkaline and glass glazed, two salt-glazed; the alkaline glazed piece is Catawba Valley, 8.25 inches tall, one small chip out of rim (there's 25 bucks) but overall great shape, and with a lovely honey color that comes across better in real life. The lidded jar has (obviously) a big chunk out of the rim (minus 50), but having the original lid is a big plus, and it just screams "sugar jar" to me; it's 9.5 inches. The tall crock (12 inches) is mint, aside from a minor chip on the underside of the rim. It wasn't made to take a lid, and was likely a "corker" with some kind of seal tied with string around the everted outer rim. It's a rare survivor, and a great piece. The two salt-glazed pieces could be Randolph or Moore or Chatham or Wilkes County, etc.; basically North Carolina Piedmont, with the lidded crock from around Guilford and the crock found in Ashe. Late nineteenth to early twentieth century; you pick 'em (though if you want all three for a reduced price let me know). Shipping overages will be refunded, as always.
